Egg Nog Cockatil for a Crowd
Ingredients:
- 10 eggs, separated
- 2 1/2 cups sugar
- 2 cups half-and-half
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon freshly grated nutmeg
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup bourbon
- 1/4 cup brandy
- 1/4 orange liquour
- Pinch salt
Directions:
In a heavy-bottomed saucepan, beat egg yolks and sugar. Stir in the half-and-half. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture is thick enough to coat the back of a spoon.
Remove from the heat and stir in the cream, nutmeg, vanilla, bourbon, brandy and orange liquour. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Before serving, beat the egg whites in a large bowl with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form, then fold them into the eggnog.
Serve in individual glasses and garnish with nutmeg.
